Online Store Guide

The Information Difference offers a range of white papers, research reports and vendor profiles for clients. These may be purchased via our online store. All prices are in US dollars. For your convenience, we include below brief instructions for using the store. You can pay by most current credit cards (Visa, Master Card, … ) and by PayPal if you have a PayPal account. Please consult PayPal in your country for more details. We also accept payment by direct bank transfer (wire transfer). Please note that we cannot accept paper cheques.

How do I Start Buying Online?

All the items on our site include an ‘Add to cart’ button that once clicked will add the item to your shopping cart (shown on the top line of your browser window). You can add as many items as you like from any of our shopping page (Current Profiles, White Papers, Research Reports, Custom Services).

The Cart (indicated by the shopping cart symbol) will provide an ongoing list when you position your mouse over the cart symbol. Clicking the View cart allows you to see more detail and amend your order, including saving items for purchase later or removing them if you no longer wish to buy them. The contents of the cart are retained for 24 hrs.
When you click the ‘Checkout’ button you will be routed to the Checkout page. You will then be presented with two radio buttons, one to select payment by PayPal (which includes both credit card payments and payment using your PayPal account if you have one) and a second option to place a direct order (a Direct Bank Transfer, sometimes called a Wire Transfer). Please use this ‘Direct order’ option (if, for example, you don’t wish to use PayPal) to send us your full details so that we can invoice you directly for the items that you wish to purchase.

Once you select the PayPal option and confirm you will be redirected to the PayPal site to complete your purchase. Please do not forget to include your email address since this is the address to which we will send your purchases in PDF format.
Full details of your order will be forwarded to you by e-mail (to the e-mail address which you have provided).
As soon as your payment has been verified by The Information Difference we will send you the document(s) you selected or your User Name and Password to grant you access to our website. We aim to respond within 48 hrs.

Returns/Refund/Cancellation Policy

The reports that we sell are sold in good faith.  If you accidentally ordered the wrong product, or have a concern that it does not meet you needs, then we will be happy to discuss this with you.  Please quote your order number and send an email with this and the nature of the problem to info@informationdifference.com and we will follow this up with you on an individual basis.

The Information Difference knows that you care how information about you is used and shared and we appreciate your trust in us to do that carefully and sensibly. What Personal Information About Customers do we Gather?

The information we learn from customers helps us personalize and improve your experience with our site.  We use the contact information you give us to handle orders, deliver products, process payments, communicate with you about orders, products, services and promotional offers, update our records and generally maintain your accounts with us.  We never share this with third parties. Above all, we do not store credit card information used for payments.

What Data do we Maintain?

We hold only the first and last names, the email address and the name of their organization for contacts with our vendors, subscribers, customers or other contacts. You can obtain a copy of the information which we hold about you, and/or request for it to be deleted by contacting David Waddington. We do not maintain data for use in our industry surveys unless we have received explicit prior permission to contact you.

Do we Share the Information we Receive?

Information about our customers is an important part of our business and we are not in the business of selling it to others.  We will release account and other personal information only when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law; enforce or apply our Conditions of Use and other agreements; or protect our rights, for example exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction. We do not sell, rent, share or otherwise disclose personally identifiable information from customers for commercial purposes in a way that is contrary to the commitments made in this Privacy Policy.

Use of Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit.  They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site.
