Mergers and Acquisitions

Resources

During the past four years significant consolidation has taken place in the Master Data Management market. Larger vendors such as IBM have acquired smaller vendors (Ascential, Trigo, DWL and recently Exeros) in order to be in a position to offer a more comprehensive MDM solution. Other vendors have acquired smaller companies with an established position in the CDI, PIM or MDM market to enable them to accelerate their entry into this developing  market. Early in 2010 Oracle acquired Silver Creek Systems, Informatica acquired Siperian and Initiate Systems was acquired by IBM. Subsequently Tibco has acquired Netrics and Experian QAS acquired Intelligent Search. IBM has recently acquired Netezza. Additionally, Software AG acquired Data Foundations in 2010.

In early 2011 Hewlett Packard acquired Vertica, Teradata acquired Aster Data, and GXS also acquired RollStream. In 2012 GB Group acquired Capscan.
